HI I’M ERIN, FOUNDER OF THE PAW FIRM.

After spending more than a decade in financial services, I found myself wanting work that felt more personal, more meaningful, and closer to my heart:  helping people protect the animals they love.

The idea for The Paw Firm began when my husband and I were creating our estate plan.  When I asked our estate planning attorney about setting aside money for the care of our cats, the response shocked me:

We were given the ‘crazy cat lady’ treatment.

Instead of understanding that our cats were beloved members of our family, we felt judged for wanting to plan for them.  As a childfree couple, that experience made it painfully clear that our priorities were not being fully understood or taken seriously.

As I learned more about pet trusts, I saw an opportunity to create something different: a law practice that helps childfree clients protect their pets with the seriousness, care, and respect they deserve.  And that is how The Paw Firm was born!

Founder

I received my J.D. from New York Law School and my B.A. from California State University, Fresno and am licensed to practice law in the State of New York.

I have spent more than 15 years working in financial services and securities litigation, and I have also handled pro bono immigration matters for more than seven years. These experiences shaped the compassionate, thoughtful, and analytical approach I bring to my work everyday.

I am based in Brooklyn, New York, and spend time at my cottage in northwestern Connecticut with my husband, Tim, and our Chief Barketing Officer, Bunny.

BUNNY

Chief Barketing Officer

I'm a Great Pyrenees who found my way to The Paw Firm through Hearts and Bones Animal Rescue and the wide-open skies of Texas.  My backstory is a bit of a mystery, but rumor has it I left my former ranch job as a livestock guardian in search of a more adventurous life.

I’m currently pursuing my degree in Obedience at the prestigious Wilhendorf School for Dogs, where I excel in Treats 101.  When I’m not making new friends at the dog park, I’m chasing my tail and woofing at anything that dares to move.  Don’t let my big bark fool you - I'm really just here for the belly rubs.
